I’ve been beauty blogging for about a month now, and I’m still navigating the waters. Many bloggers have inspired me and I’ve learned a lot from watching them. Maria from Amriaa’s blog has been a huge influence on me from the start, and when she featured my look on her weekly themed Saturday post (Pink Saturday), I was totally compelled to arrange another collaboration. Last weekend, I asked her if she’d be up for me suggesting a look for her, and vice versa, and then doing a joint post. She was excited about the idea, and we went full speed ahead.
This was a great experience with a very talented and lovely blogger, and I hope to make it a habit! The inspiration: http://www.beautylish.com/f/jmnijm/eyes (I couldn’t save the photo so I can only provide a link to it-don’t worry, it’s legit)
Stephanie says: I saw this look on Beautylish and immediately thought the eye makeup would look gorgeous on Maria’s pretty peepers, so I sent her this photo. Using Avon kohl eyeliner pencil and shadow in turquoise and Maybelline Falsies flare mascara, she whipped this look up, and I think it looks better than the original photo! The turquoise makes her eyes sparkle and goes beautifully with her flawless, satiny skin. She nailed it! When Maria suggested an Emma Stone look, I was surprised. She’s the only one who has ever drawn that comparison, and I never thought of myself as looking similar to Emma. I really liked the look she chose though, and as I delved into it I began to see the similarities! I walked away with a look I really love and enjoyed doing. Maria has a great eye for looks that will suit not only herself, but others as well. I can totally see why she chose this for me to replicate! A few things to keep in mind: Emma has darker, shorter hair, a slightly darker completion, smaller eyes, and a more narrow nose than I do, plus she’s nearly a decade younger than I am, so be gentle!
I love what Stephanie did with this look! It is the perfect makeup to highlight her eyes and flatter them. She did an amazing job and the look suits her perfectly!
Because I know Emma is a Revlon Ambassador, I tried to use as many Revlon products with this look as possible. For a step-by-step instructional on this look, post a comment with your email address!
I used the following products:
Face: Physicians formula BB Cream in Light/Medium, Revlon PhotoReady concealer stick in Fair
Eyes: Revlon PhotoReady eyeshadow quad+primer in Graffiti (510), Key Botanicals mineral eyeshadow in Black Ice Revlon Cream Blush, E.L.F. eye pencil in Black, Painted Earth High Definition Mascara in Espresso and Painted Earth Ultimate Volume Mascara in Black15.
Cheeks: Revlon Cream Blush in Berrylicious
Lips: Annabelle lip liner in Spice, Revlon Vital Radiance lipstick in Honey Nude, Revlon SuperLustrous lip gloss in Foiled
Thanks for joining me for my first collaboration post. Special thanks to Maria for teaming up with me and being so fun to work with!
