I’m so excited to announce that my favourite eco fashion label, Australia’s Green Embassy (which is helmed by one of my favourite people in the world, artist/designer/earth advocate Zuhal Kuvan-Mills ) will be showing the unforgettable Silent Rainforest wearable art series at Vancouver Fashion Week on Friday, October 2nd. Here’s a press release I wrote, designed by myself and my husband, for more info on this amazing event. The stunning gown featured in the press release is called Calliandra (I named and wrote descriptions for the entire collection!).
Silent Rainforest is beyond words. It is certainly beautiful, but it runs so much deeper than a visual statement. Green Embassy is one of the most forward-thinking, eco-minded fashion labels in the world, and Zuhal is a passionate, intelligent and warm women with a lot to say. As mentioned in the press release, she is a Veterinary Surgeon, Alpaca Farmer, and textile designer. Green Embassy was the next natural step in her art career, bringing the message of truly ethical fashion the the world’s stage being the goal. Fresh from Birmingham International Week, where Silent Rainforest left the crowd stunned and elated, Green Embassy is coming for Vancouver, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

I have a few special announcements!
I will be assisting Zuhal throughout fashion week, and will be wearing my very own Green Embassy pieces at the opening gala, and the runway event. I will also be modelling in an editorial photo shoot with several models at Stanley Park while Zuhal is here. This will be shot by John Vis, and makeup will be done by the lovely Melodie and her team from Elate Cosmetics (one of my favourite eco beauty brands, based in Victoria.)
Another announcement I would like to make is that Green Embassy has introduced scarves and ties to the Silent Rainforest collection! Hand-printed and colour with the same elements seen in the rest of the series, these are crafted by hand with vegan silk and pure silk. Here are some photos I took of my dashing husband proudly displaying his Green Embassy ties! Aren’t they just gorgeous?

Here is a selection of some stunning pieces from Silent Rainforest. The beautiful Parisa of Vancouver fashion blog FashionXPassion wrote a wonderful post about Silent Rainforest recently, and I LOVE the way she collaged these photos together to showcase her favourites. So I had to share this! (Please check out her blog! Click HERE to view the Green Embassy post.
I hope to see you at Green Embassy’s runway show this October 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Vancouver (50 E Pender street). Get tickets HERE while you still can! This is a show that will stay with you long after you leave the venue. It’s very much worth your time to support this incredible artist and her gorgeous, environmentally-conscious wearable art.
